Why We Love Using Side Tables as Interior Designers
Despite their small size, side tables play a meaningful role in interior design. They are versatile pieces of furniture — not only functional and practical but also capable of enhancing the overall look and character of a space. Here’s why we love incorporating them into our design projects: Pre tieto vlastnosti ich radi používame v návrhoch:
- Multifunctional & Adaptable Side tables are highly flexible and can be used in various ways throughout your home, adjusting to your needs over time. Today, it might serve as a coffee table; tomorrow, it could be a pedestal for a plant or sculpture. It works just as well as a nightstand, a bath-side tray for your shampoos, or even a stylish accent in an entryway. They aren't limited to just one room or function.
- Comfort & Ergonomics Designed to be within easy reach, side tables are perfect for placing a drink, book, or any small item you need nearby. They often come in slightly taller dimensions than standard coffee tables to enhance everyday comfort.
- Practical for Small Spaces Especially in compact interiors, side tables are ideal multi-taskers. Lightweight and easy to move, they often include storage and can shift roles throughout the day — from a makeup stand in the morning, to a workspace companion, to a cozy evening table next to your sofa.
- Balance & Proportion As designers we use smaller elements to balance larger pieces in a room — either to provide contrast or to smooth transitions between zones. Thoughtful attention to scale and proportion helps make a space feel cohesive, layered, and more inviting.
- Visual Appeal Side tables are often “eye-catchers” — focal points that grab attention and add personality to a room. Their design, shape, and finish can express the aesthetic identity of a space and are great opportunities to introduce new materials, colors, or artistic flair.
Design-forward shapes can turn a simple table into a small piece of art. These pieces allow us to experiment with bold forms and unique lines — whether from contemporary design brands or local artisans.
We’ve selected 12 black side tables in a variety of styles — from minimalist silhouettes to bold, sculptural statements — and in a range of price points. Black is a neutral tone that brings contrast and pairs easily with most interiors.
